The vast majority of German companies is still in family ownership. The next generation is not always willing to take over the company despite the express wish for continuation of the family tradition on the part of the current shareholder.

In the course of the sale of an owner-managed company as well as in the course of spin-offs, the takeover of the company through management is often the solution of choice (MBO). These continue to grow in importance proportionately to the rising relevance of non-monetary objectives such as contiunation of the family tradition and the preservation of jobs. The generally limited financial situation of MBO candidates poses special challenges in the structuring of such a transaction. An alternative solution could be an MBI, particularly if there is no suitable successor available either in the company or in the family.

Stringent process management as well as the meticulous choice of suitable investors remain the basis of our success in order to realise not just ideal purchase prices but occasionally soft factors as well.
